Fast Company published a great article in June 2019 outlining nine “soft skills” that employers are looking for. I really think this is a GREAT list of skills that anyone – regardless of profession or experience – should think about when looking for a new job. Or, even if you want to be promoted.
The Fast Company article reminds me of a study done by Forbes and the National Association of Colleges and Employers which highlighted five of the “most valued” skills that employers are looking for:
- Relationship skills
- Decision-making
- Communication
- Goal-directed behavior
- Obtain and process information
Between the two lists, I hope it helps you identify your soft skills and gives you a framework to use in your interviews.
